Product description
Our existing chimney kit contains all of the components that you will need to install your small stove into an existing masonry chimney. You can also choose between different lengths of single wall flue pipe so that you can pick whichever pipe that will best suit your particular installation.
If you are not lining your chimney then you will need to fix the register plate at the base of your chimney, or wherever it is appropriate depending on your particular stove installation. The single wall flue pipe can be fixed in place from the collar of your small stove, extending just beyond the register plate. The register plate itself will need to be sealed in position to ensure that the air being drawn up the flue is going through the stove and not just passing up the sides of the plate. If an access door can be configured in the register plate, then this will allow for easier sweeping. Alternatively, the flue pipe can also be periodically removed to allow any deposits to be removed from the top of the register plate. You can also add an inspection door to the flue pipe of your existing chimney kit to make the cleaning process a lot easier.
Do I need to use a flexible chimney liner, or can I use the existing chimney?
The vast majority of chimneys are not in a good enough condition to use and will need to be lined with a flexible 316 grade stainless steel chimney liner. Incorporating a flue liner will greatly improve the flue draw, efficiency and performance of your stove, whilst also minimising the build up of deposits that could potentially occur in an unlined chimney.
