Dunmore is a traditional shepherd’s hut, which has been beautifully crafted from reclaimed oak. It’s located on Prendwick Farm, at the base of the Cheviot Hills, where it enjoys picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. This lovely little shepherd’s hut also sits within Northumberland’s Dark Sky Reserve, which makes it perfect for stargazing! The hut can be found down a dark trail, just off the farmhouse path, so that guests can enjoy maximum visibility of the stars throughout the night.

After a peaceful morning waking up to the sound of the birds, you can pack up a picnic and stroll outside, journeying up over the hills to Linhope Spout waterfall or the Breamish River. The hosts – Nicola and Jamie – own this hut as part of their Huts In The Hills business, and they’re just across the path if you need any recommendations for shops or places to visit.

When you return back to the hut, you can sit down and warm up in front of our Hobbit small wood burning stove! As the night draws in, you can huddle up and watch the flames flicker away, listening to the gentle crackling of the logs as they burn away into the night.

Despite its remote location, the hut is kitted out with a gas hob and oven, a walk-in shower with plenty of hot water, as well as a king-size bed and a flushing toilet. Although there’s no TV or WiFi in the hut, there’s plenty of 4G coverage, and several plugs for charging any of your devices.

This contrasts very nicely with the traditional wooden cladding, which has been left completely untouched.

Our Hobbit Stove Has Been Fitted!

"We had a Hobbit stove fitted this week by Alex Reay from Flues and Fires, and I just wanted to get in touch to say it is AMAZING and we love it! "We just wanted to say how impressed and how much of a life saver our little Hobbit has been! It was fitted a few months ago in our holiday home in Rhu, Scotland, which is a large open plan conversion in a Victorian house. This weekend our boiler decided it was not going to play ball.
