The Mooph
A restored inland boat in the heart of the Test Valley.
The Mooph was rescued from a boat yard on Hayling Island, where she was destined to be scrapped. Fortunately, Matt Chalk utilised his 12 years of experience with making bespoke rustic furniture and got straight to work with giving this boat a completely new lease of life, transforming it into a beautiful space where guests can stay!
Matt has poured his heart and soul into creating this beautiful and unique living space from the shell of a discarded boat. His extensive experience and strong passion for furniture design is immediately obvious throughout every inch of The Mooph, which is filled with stunning joinery, beautiful finishing touches and an incredible attention to detail.
We were extremely pleased to see that The Mooph was featured on Channel 4’s George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces back in January 2023! You can watch a snippet of this below. We’re very proud to see that our Little Range Cook Stove has been incorporated into the design of this gorgeous boat cabin, where our small cook stove provides warmth and comfort for guests throughout the year.
The Mooph is the perfect rural retreat where you can escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. You can stop, take life slowly, and immerse yourself in nature. This gorgeous boat cabin benefits from its own secluded spot, as well as a raised and covered veranda that boasts views over the surrounding woodland.
