Whether you have a cosy cabin tucked away in the woods or overlooking the sea, our log cabin flue kits are the perfect solution when it comes to installing a small stove into your cabin. Our small stove will provide you and your guests with warmth and comfort, and if you happen to own a cabin that you rent out, then our little wood burner enables this space to be used all year round!
We have designed two different log cabin flue kits for installing your small stove. Log Cabin Flue Kit 1 was designed in collaboration with William Hardie, who is the head of the design team for “George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces” on Channel 4. The silicone boot roof flashing in this kit is perfect for cabins with a metal roof, and this kit also includes an AD cowl. On the other hand, our second kit is tailored to cabins with a more steeply pitched roof, as it has a 45 degree roof flashing, although this part can be swapped for a 0-30 degree flashing if required. This kit is suitable for a roof made of tiles, shingles or felt, and the AD cowl is an optional extra.
Do I need an AD cowl?
If your cabin is surrounded by trees or other buildings, then there might not be a consistent flow of air across the top of your flue. On stormy days you might experience down draught problems, where the flue draw momentarily stops. This can potentially lead to smoke being blown back into the stove. To eliminate this, the rain cap can be swapped for an anti-down draught cowl.
You can see how other people have incorporated our small multi-fuel stove into the design of their cabin by taking a look through some of our case studies.
Please note: It can be difficult to rigidly stick to the guidelines outlined in Part J Building Regulations when installing any stove into non-domestic settings, such as sheds, cabins, shepherds' huts, garden rooms, tiny homes, boats and other vehicles. Your installer will need to apply a degree of sensible flexibility when installing a stove into these settings.
Our flue kits have not been specifically designed to conform with Part J or other HETAS regulations. Before purchasing a flue kit, please confirm with your installer that they are happy to proceed with the parts listed.
