German designed The Böker Plus Appalachian Axe Small is the smaller version of Böker’s Appalachian axe. Due to the shorter handle this axe is a bit lighter therefore it is easy to store or take with you when you are travelling! The head is made from 1055 carbon steel – a tough type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. Although it is not completely stainless, Böker applied a clear varnish to protect the axe head from rust. Just make sure you properly dry the axe after use.

For the axe handle, Böker uses American hickory wood, which is exceptional in absorbing blows without breaking. This axe is great for forest maintenance, splitting wood for the fireplace or building a shelter for a bushcraft camp. The heel of the axe head is also suitable for wood work if you’re holding the axe close to the head.
