This beautifully designed stovetop kettle is made out of a high quality stainless steel. Its elegant yet bold design makes this kettle a wonderful centrepiece for your living space. The 9091 has a wide base, which helps the water in your kettle to boil much more quickly. Adding a kettle to your stovetop will ensure you always have hot water to hand, enabling you to enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee whilst you sit in front of your fire. If you configure your Hobbit stove with a rear exit kit, then you will be able to use this kettle on the top of your small wood burner. You can read more about Alessi’s philosophy here.
The 9091 kettle also has a brass melodic whistle, in a shape that has never been seen before on a kettle. It consists of two small vents, where the tuners that produce the notes mi and si are inserted. Richard Sapper was inspired by his childhood memories when he created this kettle, as the whistle resembles the poetic sound of boats’ sirens at the River Rhine. This is because the melody that accompanies the vapour outlet must be pleasant and not anxious like the whistle of boilers. He designed this kettle is a poly-sensory object which will not interrupt an enjoyable break with a whistle, but instead with a captivating melody. It has a magnetic base, which means this kettle can also be used with induction hobs.
